2009 News

24th June - We have found a fantastic show home for our very special colt; Weydown Leonardo. We wish him and Sophie all the best for a successful future together

21st June - We took our yearling colt; Mynach Master Mariner, to the South Eastern WPCA medal show and he came 2nd in the yearling section B class. It was a very long day for Bates as his class was delayed for 2 hours, due to an unfortunate injury to another competitor and sadly he didn't show himself to the best of his ability, but was very much admired by fellow section B breeders.

25th May - We took our yearling colt; Mynach Master Mariner, to his first show at Surrey County, where he came a creditable 4th out of 11 in a good class of 1,2 & 3 year olds. It was a great education for him and he really enjoyed the day out, behaving impeccably and showing himself very well, we are certain there is more to come from 'Bates'!

23rd May - Cottrell Little Nell has foaled an extremely pretty, upstanding colt by Froggy. He is chestnut roan with four socks and blaze, he is a real chip off the old block being very like Dad at the same age and has presence to spare for one so young. PHOTOS ON FOAL PAGE.

16th May -  W. Lily of the Valley has foaled a very nice, big & strong colt foal by the dun stallion Eyarth Shammah. He is chestnut like both his grand-sires; Carolinas Purple Emperor and Carwed Charmer and beautifully bred, having Eyarth Isabella and Gredington Lily as his grand-dams. PHOTOS ON FOAL PAGE.

24th April -  Our first foal is born, a really lovely, chestnut colt; out of Reylem Sunflower and by the promising young stallion; Weydown Showman (Eyarth Shammah x Cottrell Little Nell). PHOTOS ON FOAL PAGE.

The mares and their pedigrees can be found on the MARES page

24th March - We are very happy to have a found a wonderful home for our two year old filly; Weydown Lilac Time, she has recently arrived at her new home with Maud Bobier of the Evince Stud in France, our best wishes to you both.

23rd March - Having decided to take a year off breeding we felt it was unfair on Froggy to be made 'redundant' so.... he is going on loan for the summer to; Denise Jones of the Rhydyreilun Stud in North Wales. We are sure that he will have a lovely time running out with Denise' mares and we hope he produces some fantastic foals for you in 2010.
